This campaign message is focused on urging Wilson County officials to invest in additional Fire and EMS staffing to improve public safety and support first responders. As the county continues to grow, emergency calls are increasing while staffing levels in several stations and units remain insufficient for safe and effective operations.
The message highlights how adding more personnel will:
Enhance response times
Improve the safety of firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics
Ensure stronger support during fires, medical emergencies, and major incidents
Help meet national standards for emergency response
Provide better coverage during simultaneous calls
Overall, the campaign encourages community members to speak up for safer staffing levels so first responders can continue protecting Wilson County with the professionalism and efficiency the public expects and deserves.

Message: Dear Wilson County Officials, I hope you are doing well. As a resident who cares deeply about the safety of our community, I am writing to voice my support for adding additional Fire and EMS personnel to help ensure safer and more effective emergency response across Wilson County. Our county continues to grow rapidly, and with that growth comes a greater demand on the firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics who respond to everything from structure fires to serious medical emergencies and vehicle accidents. Many units across the county are operating with minimum staffing levels that make it challenging to safely manage complex incidents, operate equipment effectively, or meet national standards. Increasing staffing would help: • Improve the safety and efficiency of fireground operations • Ensure faster and more effective medical care during critical emergencies • Provide better coverage when multiple incidents occur simultaneously • Reduce risk to both first responders and the public • Strengthen Wilson County’s overall emergency response system Investing in additional personnel is an investment in public safety — for our families, our neighbors, and the men and women who protect us every day. I respectfully ask the County Commission to make increased staffing a priority in the upcoming budget discussions. Thank you for your time and for your continued service to Wilson County. I appreciate your consideration of this important issue.
